About Recipe

Bread besan toast is a quick breakfast recipe made with bread slices, spiced besan batter (gram flour), veggies and seasonings.

It’s an ideal breakfast option for hectic mornings loved by kids and adults.

This besan toast is best served with a hot cup of tea or coffee. At home, we often serve this with ketchup or dry garlic chutney along with adrak chai.

You can also serve this besan bread toast along with coriander chutney.

This recipe is so simple that it gets done in under 15-20 minutes.

This also makes a perfect option for kid’s snacks after they return from school.

Similar to this bread besan toast, we also make bread pakoda using almost the same ingredients except the vegetables. I have already shared the recipe for bread pakoda. Do check it out if interest.

Unlike bread pakoda, besan toast is pan-fried making it a low-fat version of bread pakoda.

I always like to use white bread for making this toast as it soaks the besan batter well and does not become too mushy. But you can use any bread of your choice.

It is advisable to serve this besan bread toast immediately when it’s hot as it will tend to get soggy if kept for a long time.
