This is a quick, simple and easy recipe that comes together within 15 minutes.
Policha ladoo is best made with a day-old roti / chapati. But there’s no hard and fast rule here. You can also make this with fresh poli / roti.
At home, we love transforming the leftovers into delicious snacks.
We also make phodnichi poli which is tadka roti using leftover roti. Phodnichi poli make a perfect breakfast dish along with cup of hot pipping tea.
With absolutely minimum ingredients that are easily available at your home, this dessert made from leftover roti / poli is instantly transformed to the next level with its taste, colour and flavour.

Poli / Roti / Chapati – Leftover poli / roti makes the best ladoo as it tends to be a little dry. A day’s old chapati works best.
Gul / Jaggery – To give sweetness to this ladoo we use gul / jaggery as it helps bind the ladoo properly.
Ghee – Just a tablespoon of ghee is required which helps in binding the laddoo as well as giving a nice distinct flavour.
Spices & Nuts – We are going to add freshly crushed cardamon powder to this ladoo along with some slit almonds. You can also use other nuts like cashew and pista.
Storage Suggestions
This policha ladoo is best served instantly. But if you are left with extra, store them in an air-tight container and refrigerate for no more than 2 days. Thaw them before serving.

How to make policha ladoo (Chapati Ladoo)
- These are a day’s old chapati / poli.
- Roughly tear the chapati / poli in pieces and add it to the blender.
- Pulse chapati till they are roughly crushed.
- Add jaggery / gul.
- Pulse a few times till it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Add a tablespoon of ghee and pulse it once again.
- Our policha laddo mixture is ready.
- Transfer the mixture to a wide bowl.
- Add freshly crushed cardamon powder and almonds.
- Mix the ladoo mixture well. Take a small portion of this mixture and roll them into spherical-shaped ladoos.
- Sweet, delicious policha ladoo (chapati ladoo) is ready.

Ingredients
- 5-6 Chapati / Poli / Roti
- 1/2 cup Jaggery or as per your liking
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cardemon Powder
- 2 tablespoons Almonds (OR any nuts of your choice)
Instructions
- Roughly tear the chapati / poli in pieces and add it to the blender.
