Ingredients

  • 6 Bread Slices
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Onions, sliced
  • 3 Tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 Capsicum (Bell Peppers), sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 cups Sweet Corn Kernels, boiled
  • 200 grams Cheese, or as required
  • Pizza Sauce, as required
  • Pizza Seasoings, as required
  • Black Pepper Powder, as required
  • Chilli Flakes, as required
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Oil, to cook the vegetables

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add roughly crushed garlic pods.
  • Saute the garlic till they are golden brown.
  • Add sliced onions. Saute onions for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add capsicum (bell peppers) and saute them for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add sliced tomatoes. I have kept the seeds of tomatoes here, if you want you may discard the seeds.
  • Cook vegetables till 80-90% done. A little crunch in vegetables gives a nice texture to this pizza.
  • Add red chilli powder and salt to taste.
  • Our vegetable topping is ready.
  • Heat heavy bottom pan/tawa/griddle, and lightly toast the bread from one side till you see brown spots.
  • Now spread the pizza sauce on the toasted side.
  • Evenly spread the vegetables over the bread slice.
  • Add a handful of cooked sweet corn over the vegetables and sprinkle chilli flakes or Italian herbs/pizza seasonings
  • Place the grated cheese over the vegetable topping.
  • Sprinkle a little black pepper powder.
  • In a deep non-stick pan, add a teaspoon of butter and spread it across the pan, and place the bread slice into the pan.
  • Cover the pan and let the pizza roast on the lowest flame for about 12-15 minutes or until the cheese melts and the base becomes crisp. Keep on checking the pizza occasionally.
  • Once the base is crisp from the bottom and the cheese has melted, transfer the pizza to the chopping board & cut it into triangles.
  • Bread pizza on tawa is ready. Serve hot.

Notes

I have cooked vegetables here as we are using bread slice which might burn if kept in a pan for a long time. If you like, you may add raw vegetables too. (It's a personal choice).
For pizza sauce, today I went ahead with a shortcut of adding mixed herbs to tomato ketchup instead of using any pizza sauce. You may use storebought pizza sauce here or homemade.
